Caravan Services
It is recommended that you service your caravan and RV at least every 12 months or 10,000kms. Coastal RV should be your first choice for caravan services on the Sunshine Coast.
If you are planning a big trip we would also recommend you book in for a service to ensure your safety, and that your RV is functioning as it should. The last thing you want is to be stopped on the side of the road in the middle of your holiday.
Take the stress out of any potential issues and book in for one of our great services today.
Servicing is an important part of looking after your RV and for many manufacturers this is essential in order to maintain warranty conditions.
Just because your RV hasn’t been getting much use doesn’t mean that you don’t need it to be serviced. In fact not using your RV on a regular basis can be worse as key components are not getting the regular attention and conditioning that they need. Weather conditions such as Queensland’s intense sunlight, dampness, and the salt air that is prevalent around Queensland and the Sunshine Coast can play a big part in deteriorating your RV’s condition.
What options are available for Caravan services?
We appreciate that not every RV needs the same level of attention, for this reason we offer two levels of caravan services, our full Standard Service and our Check, Adjust & Report option.
Standard Service
Our Standard Service is recommended for your annual servicing. Even if your van has been sitting around not being used, dust, grime, and rust can build up. These issues need attention for your safety.
Our Standard Service is a full mechanical service covering:
- Bearings – Clean, repack, and report
- Replacement of the seals
- Testing and adjustment of brakes
- Testing and adjustment of handbrake
- Testing of the breakaway
- Inspection and reporting of Drum brakes, brake magnets, brake shoes
- Cleaning and painting of brake drums
- Inspection of bushes for movement
- Full clean and greasing of backing plate
- Inspection of springs and suspension
- Greasing suspension
- Checking all tyre conditions, tyre pressures, and Re-sheen tyre faces
- Checking of all other components such as the hitch bolts, external locks, jockey wheel operation, stabilizers, running lights, and a through check of the under carriage
This is your RV health check, and it is recommended every 12 months or 10,000Km.
Book your Standard Service time now.
Check, Adjust & Report
The “Check, Adjust & Report” service is a great option for any RV that needs a look over, but needs less attention than the full Standard Service. This can be a good option for new vans that require a “First Service”, or perhaps you are heading out on a big trip and you want someone to look over the van and check everything looks good and safe for the journey.
The Check, Adjust & Report service covers:
- Inspection of the Bearings but not cleaning, repacking or greasing
- Testing and adjusting of the brakes
- Inspection of the Brake Magnets, magnet faces, drum and linings
- Inspection of brake shoes
- Testing of handbrake
- Testing of the breakaway
- Testing running lights
- Checking of tyre pressure
- Visual check of suspension
- Greasing of suspension
- Visual check of under carriage
Think of the Check, Adjust & Report as a mini service. The Check, Adjust & Report is can be a great option before selling your van or getting a Road Worthy Certificate to make sure that everything is at passing standard before you go for the Road Worthy Certificate test.
Wheel Alignments
Just like with your car, if your wheels are out of alignment your tyres will wear unevenly. This can mean replacing tyres sooner than you should need to and can also lead to a dangerous tyre condition.
Keep yourself and your loved ones safe and let us check your wheel alignment.
Hot Water System Servicing
If you want a hot shower or clean dishes on your next trip then let us check your Hot Water System.
We offer a full flush, anode check and replacement if needed, as well as checking the full function of the system.
This is often neglected or forgotten but is an important part of your RV servicing schedule.
Awning Servicing
Awnings are hard to go without and as such they are one of the most used accessory on any RV.
Awnings need some attention every now and then to keep them operating correctly. If you neglect them you could be looking at a full replacement down the road.
We offer an Awning Service where we inspect the awning for any issues, check it is operating correctly, lubricate mechanical parts, and if required remove the awning to adjust the tension of both sides to ensure even roll-in and roll-out of the shade cloth.
Depending on your needs we offer two levels of Awning servicing. The Awning Adjust, Lube and Report is a great option for minor adjustments and maintenance, and the Awning Service that is a more extensive 2 man service where we remove the awning for a full inspection, lubrication, and re tensioning.
